Public Information (PI)

Responsible for creating greater understanding of and preventing misunderstandings of – the AA program through public media and electronic media, Pl meetings, and speaking to community groups. [Source: AA Service Manual] This committee speaks (when invited) at schools or to any other group about our experiences with alcoholism. These talks are primarily informational and help those in the audience to know more about alcoholism and to make them aware that help is available to all who seek it. All committee members need to be thoroughly familiar with the AA program and able to provide constant and accurate information about the fellowship. An understanding of the 12 Traditions, including a firm grasp of the anonymity traditions is most important.
